The American singer and songwriter Bob Dylan likes to doodle and paint when his hands aren’t strumming. At Halcyon, the London gallery that has represented Dylan for over 15 years, a new exhibition called “Point Blank” features 97 paintings created by Dylan in 2021. His subjects are varied and include interiors, landscapes, and people, sometimes isolated, sometimes in groups. “An hour or two could go by and it would seem like only a minute,” Dylan has said of the time he spends sketching or painting. “Not that I thought that I was any great drawer, but I did feel like I was putting an orderliness to the chaos around.” —Carolina de Armas
