Lee Miller began her career in fashion. It was the 1920s in New York, and Miller was a model for Vogue. Eventually she took to the other side of the lens. In Paris she became a fashion photographer, then a Surrealist; in the 40s she was an intrepid war correspondent. In October 2019, some of her clothes were found at Farleys House, where Miller lived with her second husband, Roland Penrose. This exhibition pairs garments—including a beach dress from the 1930s, a Romanian folk coat from 1938, a U.S. Army uniform, ski jumpsuits, and shoes—with 35 of her best known works.
