When the photographer Juergen Teller and his wife, Dovile Drizyte, traveled to Lake Como for a wedding, they fell in love with the hotel in which they were booked, the 19th-century Villa Serbelloni. “And at the time,” Teller told the Financial Times. “I—we—wanted to get pregnant.” The pair had an idea. What if they tried for the baby in each of the 94 rooms—and documented it? This exhibition presents the nativity journey that followed. Like many women who want to get pregnant, Drizyte elevated her legs after sex. Unlike many women who want to get pregnant, she was photographed in that moment, legs up, all around the neoclassical building. —Elena Clavarino
