In 2021, the art historian Griselda Pollock and the sculptor Lorna Green decided to revive a forgotten but monumental 1988 research project. The subject was close to their hearts: gender. Almost 40 years ago, due to Green’s initiative, women sculptors completed a survey about the issues and challenges their medium presented based on gender. The second time around, Pollock and Green have recruited a new cohort of sculptors and have asked the same questions once more. Alongside the surprising responses, displayed around the gallery space, are 30 works by sculptors such as Phyllida Barlow (including her rarely seen HOLD), Cornelia Parker, and Helen Chadwick (In the Kitchen, 1977). —Elena Clavarino
