The Liber Studiorum series, 71 prints by the renowned British landscape artist J. M. W. Turner, are on display for the first time in 100 years. If that isn’t enough reason to visit Manchester (it certainly won’t be Man City’s horrid performance in the Premier League this season), I don’t know what is. This was one of Turner’s most ambitious projects. As the artist intended, the Whitworth is exhibiting all the prints together, showcasing his abilities as both a genius painter and a masterful printmaker. The exhibition also marks the 250th anniversary of Turner’s birth. —Carolina de Armas
