One of Goshka Macuga’s mediums of choice is tapestry. Her woven works, including a large-scale project for MoMA, frequently speak to trends and political issues of the day. Following her recent induction into the Royal Academy of Arts, Macuga’s exhibition “When Ice Melts in a Glass of Water” features tapestries and sculptures, and also paintings that create a similarly momentous impact despite their smaller format. At Andrew Kreps she emphasizes mankind’s negative impact on Earth, with each work showcasing a human-created disaster or destruction. —Zack Hauptman
