At the height of his career in the 1980s, Tirso “TJ” Dominguez was making upwards of $100 million a month flying cocaine from Columbia to Florida for the infamous drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. He owned a mansion in Fort Lauderdale and a different Lamborghini for every day of the month. At one point, Dominguez even owned a pet mountain lion, which he named Top Cat. In a new podcast, more than 38 years after he was arrested in his Fort Lauderdale home for drug trafficking and sentenced to 13 years in federal prison, Dominguez shares the outlandish story of how he became one of the main transporters for Escobar’s drug empire—and how it all went wrong. —Paulina Prosnitz
