In 1973, for only $2,000, Forrest “Frosty” Myers completed an eight-story bright-blue art installation on the side of a building in downtown Manhattan. The installation was officially named The Wall, but has since earned the title “The Gateway to Soho” for its prominent presence on the corner of Houston and Broadway. In the decades that followed, Frosty’s interest in minimalist geometric sculpture expanded to new mediums, including sheet-metal furniture, laser-light installations, and stainless-steel paintings. These works, which span a period of over 60 years, are on view this summer at the Catskill Art Space. —Paulina Prosnitz
