Cynthia Erivo’s high notes have become instantly recognizable since she first played Elphaba in the 2024 film adaptation of Wicked. A turn in the West End was inevitable for the actress, that rare performer to have won a Tony, an Emmy, and a Grammy. In fact, she won’t be the only Wicked alum heading to London. In 2027, Ariana Grande and Jonathan Bailey are set to appear at the Barbican Centre in Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine’s Sunday in the Park with George. Before then, Erivo steps into the role of Dracula. Indeed, she’s taking on all 23 roles in Kip Williams’s audacious reimagining of the Bram Stoker novel. First staged in Sydney two years ago, the production will look brand new thanks to a makeover from the team behind The Picture of Dorian Gray, which debuted in 2024 and starred Sarah Snook. —Jeanne Malle
