On February 7, 1964, three months after the assassination of John F. Kennedy, the Beatles touched down in New York for their first-ever visit to America. The frenzy began immediately, with hordes of fans gathering to greet them at the airport, and later, a record-breaking 73 million tuning in to their performance on the Ed Sullivan Show. A new documentary produced by Martin Scorsese and directed by David Tedeschi tells the behind-the-scenes story of the trip, which marked the beginning of America’s obsession with four boys from Liverpool. Alongside new interviews with Ringo and Paul, the film features never-before-seen, intimate footage of the band, who ranged in age from 20 to 23 at the time, as they experienced an unprecedented new level of fame.
