Barbara Kruger’s pointed texts are about as direct as you can get. A conceptual artist and collagist, Kruger, who is now 77, is famous for laying boldface text—statements like “Your body is a battleground”—on top of provocative photographs. For this show at the Institute of Contemporary art, Kruger has created a new work especially for the museum. —Elena Clavarino
