New York’s favorite out-of-commission aircraft carrier invites all to Pier 86 for the thrillingly interactive “Apollo: When We Went to the Moon.” This special exhibition at the Intrepid Museum unpacks some never-before-seen artifacts and photos from Apollo 11’s revolutionary moon landing on July 20, 1969. The astronaut Neil Armstrong was the first human to step foot on the moon; 19 minutes after that, Buzz Aldrin followed. And guess what? Now you can too! Visitors to the show are not only allowed to climb aboard a Lunar Roving Vehicle, they can also leave virtual footprints on the moon! —Isabella Carter
