Christophe Pourny
True Marseille Soap in Lavender
Editor’s Notes:
Savon de Marseille is one of the most popular exports from southwestern France, and lavender is among its most beloved scents. A quick history lesson: olive oil has been used as a cleanser for centuries; the ancient Greeks used the emollient as the first form of soap. In the sixth century, the first olive-oil-based soap factory was established in Marseille. Each bar of Christophe Pourny True Marseille Soap carries on this tradition and contains a high olive-oil content that moisturizes skin as it cleanses.
Fresh lavender flowers from the South of France are pressed into each bar, filling any room with a calming aroma. What’s more, this soap is very gentle, making it a natural choice for cleaning delicate laundry. It’s even suitable for use as facial soap.
Born and raised in the Var region of Southern France, Christophe Pourny grew up in his parents antique store where he gained a natural knowledge and affection for all types of furniture. In 2010, partner Jason Jobson joined the studio after having spent twenty years working with French and Italian luxury fashion brands. Together, the duo have created an all-natural collection of furniture care, home goods, and more.
