A native of Texas, Will Cooper got his design education at the school of Ralph Lauren, where he worked with the retail and creative teams on store display at the beginning of his career. He applied what he learned to Ash NYC, the New York–based real-estate-development-and-design firm behind hotels including Hotel Peter & Paul in New Orleans, the Siren in Detroit, and the Ulysses in Baltimore. Cooper joined ASH as partner and creative director in 2011 and left in 2023 to launch William White, his own design studio with a line of made–in–New York clothing, Italian ceramics, Egyptian glassware, and modular furniture. Earlier this month, Cooper opened William White Emporium, a storefront on Canal Street that sells his own collection alongside his favorite objects, scents, and sundries collected from his world travels. Here, Cooper shares his love for all things white
