My Favorite Things

Before Carey Lowell began her modeling career, in the 1980s, when she worked for the likes of Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren, she lived with her parents around the globe. Later, as a Hollywood actress, Lowell had significant roles in film and TV from License to Kill and Law & Order to Sleepless in Seattle. These days, the mother of two channels some of this worldly, creative background into her work as a ceramist, plying her craft in both upstate New York and Montecito, California. “There’s a distinct calling to lose yourself that is apparent in both acting and throwing ceramics,” she notes of the two pursuits. Herewith, Lowell lists the products winning in her wardrobe and topping her wish list

Xirena

$172

Jagger Button-Down Shirt

“I love the lightweight and very soft cotton on all Xirena shirts, but this one has a nice detailed placard, which elevates it from a simple white cotton shirt. I wear mine all the time!”

The Row

$2,890

Small Crossbody Mail Bag

“I love the simplicity of this bag. Beautiful leather, and the crossbody means my shoulders are not bearing the burden of my load. I’d like one in every color.”

Birkenstock

$150

Arizona Shearling-Lined Suede Sandals

“I live in these. They are cozy and support my flat feet and just feel so, so good. I know they make lots of colors, but I like this original tan the best—old-school!”

Sidney Garber

$14,500

Plume Earrings in Diamonds and 18-Karat White Gold

“Brooke Garber Neidich is one of the chic-est women I know, and her jewelry is always covetable. I wear these Plume earrings whenever I have to dress up, even though Brooke is always telling me I can wear them anytime.”

Métier

$590

Westman Atelier x Métier Makeup Train Case

“Like everything Gucci Westman does, this case has style and quality. I love how functional it is on the inside—waterproof lining, and so on—and how stylish it is on the outside, with the leather-trimmed canvas. I will need to book a compartment on the Orient-Express now just to show it off.”

Amor Towles

$27

The Lincoln Highway

“Great reads are always a welcome gift!”

Maison Pechavy

$68

French Slim Taper Candles & Candle Holders

“I really admire the refined yet earthy vibe of these candles, which will complement any room or table.”

Tory Burch

$98

Tory Burch Foundation Seed Box 2021

“Any opportunity to support and raise awareness for women entrepreneurs is a win. Kudos to Tory Burch for offering this collection.”
