Christine and John Gachot met at William Sofield’s studio. (Before that, Christine worked under André Balazs on Chiltern Firehouse and The Standard, while John designed Marc Jacobs’s townhouse and retail spaces for Gucci and Bottega Veneta.) Since launching GACHOT in 2012, they’ve built a practice that has shaped some of the most recognizable interiors in fashion and hospitality. Their new furniture collection for Artemest, debuting at Salone, draws in part from their Sutton Place living room.
