Jeff Press knows a thing or two about framing a face. The licensed optician began his career at Robert Marc and trained under Richard Morgenthal of Morgenthal Frederics, where he eventually took over the brand’s design. Drawing on his expertise with natural materials, specifically, buffalo horn, he launched Press, his own eyewear collection, in 2024. Press’s optical and sunglasses are defined by a focus on sustainable materials, craftsmanship and frames for the individualist. Here, he shares his taste for Aesop handwash, A Diciannoveventitre shoes, Yohji Yamamoto pants, and more.

A Diciannoveventitre

Pleated Cargo Trousers

“There is such simplicity in perfect black pants. Yohji is the master. Simply my favorite creator of clothes ever.”

Feu De Bois Candle

“I love a raging fire, but Manhattan makes that kind of tough. This candle always does the trick. It’s just so nice when things smell good.”

The Elder Statesman

Statesman Ribbed Cashmere Beanie

“The first time I felt the cashmere of the Elder Statesman, I learned that the fabric had reached heights I had never seen before. I love all four seasons, but winter is so much better in one of these caps.”

“Good hand soap is a beautiful thing. Bad hand soap is like an all-day nightmare. This is the right answer.”

ATM Anthony Thomas Melillo

Slub Jersey Crew Neck Tee

“I discovered the ATM slub a few years back. I can’t wait to see what colors come next, even if I still end up loving the grays and blacks best.”

The Butler’s Closet

$115

English Horn Clothes Brush

“Natural materials are always the most beautiful. This clothing brush makes sure everything is clean and in perfect order. So old-world awesome.”

Breville

Barista Touch Espresso Machine

“I have a teenager, so I love coffee even more now than I ever thought possible. This machine is so beautiful and nothing makes the day happen like the first coffee of the day.”

Bowers & Wilkins

$799

Px8 S2 Headphones

“Making your Radiohead sound as clear and beautiful as possible is basically the goal every day. These headphones make the experience so much better, plus Becks is in the ad, and looks pretty damn cool.”

Press Eyewear

Satisfaction Sunglasses

“Satisfaction is our take on classic cool, and pairs it with specialty materials, all handcrafted from pure titanium in Japan, with fantastic double gradient Zeiss lenses. We painstakingly develop custom metal platings, and the Army tortoise is one of my favorites at the moment.”
