My Favorite Things

Carolina Irving’s eponymous collection of timeless, travel-inspired textiles are a reflection of her upbringing: raised in Paris by Venezuelan parents, the former Elle Decor editor and Oscar de la Renta Home creative director studied Art History and Archaeology at the École du Louvre. In 2018, she brought her distinctive decorative touch to the tabletop with the debut of Carolina Irving & Daughters, an artisanal homeware brand, which she co-founded with her daughters, Ariadne and Olympia. Below, Irving reveals the pieces she can’t live without

Frédéric Malle

$205

Cafe Society Perfume Gun

“One of the things I can’t live without! The name alone is so glamorous and reminiscent of another era, as is its scent. I spray it all over my curtains and cushions, and it lingers on for days.”

Umberto Pasti

$50.99

The House of a Lifetime: A Collector’s Journey in Tangier

“The most magical and evocative book—the stuff of dreams for me. Umberto Pasti is one of the great collectors in the old-fashioned sense of the word. Instant armchair travel.”

Vans

$65

Checkered Slip-On Sneakers

“I wear these sneakers all day long with everything and can walk in them for miles! I have them in almost every color. Such a brilliant design—so slick and simple.”

Actinica

$32

Sun Protection Anti-Aging & Non-Melanoma Lotion

“The absolute best sunscreen. It stays on all day and gives you total protection—and with no scent, which is great.”

Matouk

$599

Aziza Flat Sheet

“I really only like white sheets; the cutout border makes these crisp and fresh.”

PG Tips

$12

Pyramid Tea Bags

“Very strong with milk and sugar—and a bacon sandwich! Reminds me of boarding school, for better or for worse!”

Rimowa

$900

Essential Cabin Suitcase

“Rimowa: the essential. I love the glossy fire engine red! Simply the best design.”

Carolina Irving & Daughters

$160

Konstantin Cache Pot

“This is always on my table and full of flowers. Inspired by English delftware, it’s rustic but refined at the same time. ”

Hermès

$2,500

Heure H Watch

“I’ve always loved white leather bracelets. They look great in the summer when you’re tanned. This has a very 70s look.”

Smythson

$280

2023 Soho Agenda in Panama

“I am very old fashioned, so I need to write everything down. This is definitely one item I can’t live without.”

Chanel

$122

No.5 Eau de Parfum

“My Proust’s Madeleine. Magical scent. Flowery and powdery at the same time, it leaves a heavenly trail.”
