My Favorite Things

When Alia Raza launched Régime des Fleurs in 2014, the self-taught perfumer had no intention of giving up her career in film for fragrance. But, as the brand’s ornately bottled, conceptual blends—including one rosy collaboration with Chloë Sevigny—began to leave their mark, she decided to devote her time to dreaming up singular scents, which take their cues from baroque interiors to contemporary art alike. Fast forward to today, and the olfactory lineup can now be found at some of the world’s most discerning boutiques, including The Row and Dover Street Market. Here, Raza reveals the essentials she swears by.

Bellocq

$27

No. 10 Jasmine Silver Needles Tea

“I love white tea because I’m sensitive to caffeine. The jasmine-scented one from Bellocq is what I drink every morning.”

Smythson

$250

Soho Notebook in Panama

“Once a year, I get a new Smythson notebook for work. I write down everything I need to do and go through it each day as I cross things off my lists. This year, my initials are engraved in pink.”

Khaite

$660

Vera Skirt

“I love this skirt. Cate Holstein makes clothes that are both refined and sexy, which is no easy feat.”

Augustinus Bader

$55

The Shampoo

“This fragrance-free shampoo is gentle but still does a great job cleansing my hair after a workout.”

Charles Eames

$1,480

Chair

“My office furniture is pale uncoated plywood—very soothing—so I wanted a simple desk chair that wouldn’t be obtrusive. This Eames is so comfortable.”

Loro Piana

$595

Cashmere Sciarpa Grande Fringe-Trim Scarf

“Why buy cashmere unless it’s Loro Piana?”

Alaïa

$3,030

Paneled Cotton Mini Dress

“I’ve always been an Alaïa person, and this dress is perfect. You can’t go wrong with the picks from Lauren Santo Domingo’s Closet on Moda. She just has beautiful taste.”

Lyma

$2,695

Laser Starter Kit

“I’m afraid of laser treatments and injections, but I wanted to try something to give my skin some extra help, so I splurged on this. Fingers crossed.”

The Row

$1,320

N/S Park Small Suede Tote

“The perfect tote from The Row, of course. That’s all that needs to be said.”

Marie-Chantal

$285

Angel Wing Cashmere Pointelle Blanket

“I gave this blanket to a friend for her baby shower this past weekend. She really loved it!”

Régime des Fleurs

$225

Leather Petals Perfume

“My new perfume Leather Petals is New York-inspired. The idea is of a dark, decadent, avant-garde Gotham—in fragrance form.”

Palgrave MacMillan

$97.74

Wide Sargasso Sea at 50

“My favorite novel since I was a teenager, Wide Sargasso Sea is beautiful and heartbreaking. I just ordered this edition, which delves into the book’s cultural impact 50 years after it was published.”
