The Armani hotel may feel a bit sterile and modern for our tastes, but in case you didn’t notice the huge Emporio Armani sign on the top of the aircraft hangar at Linate airport, Milan is very much Giorgio Armani’s town. The hotel’s location is ideal, overlooking Via Manzoni and just a few steps away from the heart of the Quadrilatero, where coiffed women head to buy the latest in designer wear. There’s a wonderful spa, a Nobu downstairs, a rooftop bar, and the Emporio Armani Caffé on the adjacent square. There’s even a nightclub downstairs (guests shouldn’t worry—it’s expertly sound-proofed). —Elena Clavarino
