Musée Yves Saint Laurent Paris, 5 Avenue Marceau, 75116 Paris, France

“I know there is the danger of beauty in my work,” Claudia Wieser said in 2018, “or a danger that it becomes purely decorative.” Wieser is Bavarian, an artist who first trained as a blacksmith. Known for geometric constructions that read as modernist, she is now 50 and has curated “Shapes & Forms” at the Musée Yves Saint Laurent. Wieser will place her own works in dialogue with couture and ready-to-wear pieces by Saint Laurent—designs that bring some very sharp geometries to bear on the human body. There is a distinct danger that beauty will preside in this show. —Laura Jacobs
