A writer protests yellowface casting in Miss Saigon but unintentionally casts a white actor as the Asian lead in his own play. David Henry Hwang’s semi-autobiographical new show, directed by Leigh Silverman, draws inspiration from the casting controversy surrounding the original production of Miss Saigon.
