One of the world’s most ardent collectors of modern and contemporary art, the late Donald B. Marron amassed more than 300 masterworks over six decades. Marron was known for his passion, and also for the variety and scope of the works he acquired. In Pace’s newly opened East Hampton location, 40 works on paper—ink, graphite, watercolors, pastels—offer a peek into his brilliant collection. The art on view includes Elsworth Kelly’s nature studies, a Paul Thek acrylic, and work by Matisse, Dufy, Léger, Damien Hirst, Jasper Johns, and more. It’s a tantalizing preface to the larger exhibition that opens in New York City in 2021. —E.C.
