Jean-Pierre Heim, the architect behind the Shanghai Yacht Club, maintains offices in New York, Paris, Athens, and Shanghai. Needless to say, he travels often and not just among those four cities. In fact, he’s visited more than 70 countries, and wherever he goes he opens a notebook and draws what he sees. On his tours of ruins and world monuments, deserts and rivers, Heim captures the view with fine, detailed lines and elegant washes of yellow, blue, and gray. His sketches, reminiscent of travel logs from a bygone era, are now on view. —Jeanne Malle
