The annual Winter Show, a benefit for the East Side House, now 69 years old, is widely considered the crème de la crème of America’s art, antiques, and design fairs. This year—after moving to 660 Madison Avenue, Barney’s former flagship, last April—the fair is back at its former location, the 19th-century Park Avenue Armory. Spread through the gallery space, 68 international exhibitions present works that span 5,000 years. Highlights include a talk on eye portraits by experts Elle Shushan and Graham Boettcher (January 20), the Young Collectors Night (January 26), and Connoisseurs Night (January 27), which sees the most prestigious art, antique, and design experts converging for a panel discussion. And let us not forget the three installations—curated by design co-chairs Bunny Williams, Elizabeth Lawrence, Alex Papachristidis, and Stephen Sills—that celebrate the fair’s homecoming. —Elena Clavarino
