The Winter Show

Alexander Calder, Spirale, 1965.

Apr 1–10, 2022
660 Madison Ave, New York, NY 10065

The annual Winter Show, now 68 years old, is widely considered the crème de la crème of America’s art, antiques, and design fairs. This year, having moved from January to early April, it feels more like the Spring Show. And it’s in a new venue, too—660 Madison Avenue, Barney’s former flagship. Spread through a number of floors, 60 international exhibitions present works that span 5,000 years. Highlights include a discussion with the creators of Rowdy Meadow, an amazing Czech-Cubist-inspired house in Hunting Valley, Ohio (April 6), the Young Collectors Night (April 7), and an exploration of portraiture on April 10, led by Aimee Ng, curator of The Frick Collection. And let us not forget the fair’s opening party this Thursday, March 31, which launches the city’s social season. —Elena Clavarino
