The Academy Awards celebrate spectacle, but the show is also a spectacle in itself. We love keeping up with the nominated films and actors, and cheering when our choices win an Oscar (or commiserating with fellow fans when they don’t). But we also love the event at large: the dressed-up performers, the speeches, the dramatics. In an annual tradition of its own, the Metrograph hosts an Oscar-night soirée that allows you to join the fun from beyond the couch. Complete with festive drinks and appetizers, the Chinatown theater will begin its broadcast with the pre-ceremony red carpet and keep going until the last trophy is handed out—then the after-party starts up.
