The floral designer Jeff Leatham began working with flowers at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills. He was such a natural that in 1994 he was transferred to the Four Seasons Hotel George V in Paris, where his floral creations turned heads (he is now the hotel’s artistic director). Leatham’s work has won him many celebrity clients—“When I think of flowers,” says Kim Kardashian, “I think of Jeff.” Oprah Winfrey has called him “the greatest florist of all time.” For The Orchid Show, now in its 19th year at the New York Botanical Garden, Leatham has built orange, yellow, and green orchid towers, while purple and pink orchids burst from the ceiling. Mirrors are placed throughout the bunches of flowers, refracting color so that the Enid A. Haupt Conservatory becomes a walk-in kaleidoscope. —Jensen Davis
