During Dipo Baruwa-Etti’s year-long residency at the Almeida Theatre, the playwright, poet, and filmmaker wrote The Clinic. Now the show is premiering at the theater. The play focuses on a young girl named Ore who invites a beleaguered friend, Wunmi, to live with her family. Ore’s home seems like a refuge: the family is full of charity workers, therapists, and politicians trying to bolster their community. But the addition of this new person disrupts the house’s harmony.
