A man and a woman have been together for 50 years. Every day they sit on the same park bench and discuss ordinary topics like the birds and the weather. When we first meet them, it’s summer. But as the seasons change over the course of a year, so do their conversations, gradually veering into something deeper. A subtle and poignant play by Jiehae Park, The Aves has been described as ethereal, lyrical, and surreal. Knud Adams, who won consecutive Pulitzer Prize awards for English (2023) and Primary Trust (2024), directs. —Jeanne Malle
