At seven P.M. sharp, the global rite of applauding front-line workers from windows, stoops, and balconies will have a local apotheosis—if composers Frank London (of the Klezmatics), Hajnal Pivnick, and Dorian Wallace get their way. Over a thousand New Yorkers (they hope) will sing, play, and bash pots and pans in a “symphonic fanfare” to the uncommon men and women who are saving our lives, and saving the city from mute, inglorious collapse. —E.E.
