There’s a scene in the new show War that eerily recalls the way Olivia Wilde was presented with custody papers from Jason Sudekis: the movie star Carla Duval (Sienna Miller) is served divorce papers by her tech-CEO husband Morgan Henderson (Dominic West) while at the premiere for her new film. Such are the theatrics that come with celebrity divorce. Creator George Kay was inspired by glossy shows of the 1990s—The West Wing, for instance, and Ally McBeal. He loved their humor, he told The Guardian, and “wanted to do something with the sort of zip and repartee of those shows.” Over two decades after leading a West End production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It, Miller and West return to duke it out as bitter rivals onscreen. —Maggie Turner
