Ralph Fiennes is racking up the rave reviews these days and here he comes again, in the U.S. premiere of David Hare’s Straight Line Crazy, directed by Nicholas Hytner and Jamie Armitage. Fiennes plays Robert Moses, the larger-than-life urban planner who held many titles over a long career but is basically famous—and controversial—for playing God with the highways and parks of New York City and its suburbs. Moses did much good, but he also destroyed neighborhoods. Hare’s play focuses on two of the many battles Moses fought—one in 1926, the other in 1955. The Guardian calls the play “Hare’s most dramatically gripping and politically thoughtful” in three decades. Be ready for your own fight—for a ticket. —Laura Jacobs
