Spring Storms, by Jaromír Weinberger

Jan 25 – Mar 28, 2020
Behrenstraße 55-57, 10117 Berlin, Germany

The premiere of Jaromír Weinberger’s interracial romance, in Berlin, was a glittering affair, starring the Plácido Domingo and Anna Netrebko of their day as the Japanese officer and the widow of a Russian general. Barrie Kosky, general director of the Komische Oper, directs the first revival—and make no mistake, he knows how to create a sensation. —M.G.
