The American artist Sarah Sze usually starts with found objects. Everyday items such as string, Q-tips, wire, and photographs come together to form complex installations. In 2003, when Sze was 34, she won a MacArthur Fellowship. In 2013, she represented the U.S. at that year’s Venice Biennale. She has shown at institutions across the globe. For this exhibition, the Guggenheim invited Sze to create a series of site-specific installations that weave through its spaces. A pendulum will hang over the central fountain, while secret works are tucked quietly throughout the museum. Sze is also wrapping the building’s exterior in a flow of imagery. —Elena Clavarino
