Compared to New York’s sleek mega galleries, Galerie Sardine—located in a 1701 Amagansett farmhouse—is humble. But over the years, the gallery has managed to attract the same demographic. Valentina Akerman and Joe Bradley, the couple who created Galerie Sardine, told T Magazine they wanted to produce “more congenial, more fruitful, more personal and more truthful” art world gatherings. This summer, they’ve partnered with the Long Island City gallery Somerset House to furnish the historic farmhouse. The items do not make a decorative showroom as much as they prompt an interactive dialogue between art and home. Rare pieces include a Pierre Chapo tête-à-tête and a cowhide Pierre Jeanneret daybed. It’s an evocation of an almost forgotten Hamptons bohemia. —Maggie Turner
