New York International Antiquarian Book Fair

Aug 1–2, 2021
643 Park Ave, New York, NY 10065, United States

There’s something for everyone at the New York International Antiquarian Book Fair, which this year celebrates its 61st birthday with price points ranging from $50 to $1 million. A treasure trove of rare books, maps, illuminated manuscripts, fine bindings, illustrations, and historical documents, the fair features nearly 150 exhibitors. Among them: Rodolphe Chamonal, whose original watercolor collection of printed labels from perfumerie L.T. Piver dates back to the 18th century; Type Punch Matrix, offering a first edition of Pride and Prejudice (1813) in three volumes; and Raptis Rare Books, whose first edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (1997) includes a handwritten note from J. K. Rowling to Bryony Evens, “the first person ever to see merit in Harry Potter.” —J.V.
