The New York Film Festival is back at Lincoln Center this Friday for its 63rd year. The festival offers a sweeping program of 86 films, an increase from its previous 62. This year’s slate of films includes the latest from Luca Guadagnino, After the Hunt, which stars Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, and Andrew Garfield in a drama fueled by deceit, and Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere, featuring Jeremy Allen White as a Nebraska-era Bruce Springsteen. Other highlights include Mr. Scorsese, a reverent five-part documentary about the eminent director’s career, and the Venice Film Festival Golden Lion-winner Father Mother Sister Brother, the newest addition to Jim Jarmusch’s filmography, starring Cate Blanchett and Adam Driver in the throes of a family reckoning. —Maggie Turner
