Thirteen videos, roughly five minutes each, to music by a cohort of 13 diverse composers responding in highly individual ways to the deracination and disorientation of the pandemic. Nothing “adds up,” but how could you expect it to? Navigate at will through clusters somewhat arbitrarily labeled identity, fear, and isolation. Depending on a viewer’s perspective, this or that entry will surely strike a chord. Raven Chacon’s forlorn lament “La Indita Cautiva,” shot in sepia, will be high on many lists. Likewise Paul Pinto’s jaunty “Whiteness: Blanc,” which dares to ask the question, “Can’t I be from Queens?” —M.G.
