Majerus Wool Warhol: Skulls and Rorschachs

Sept 13, 2019 – Mar 7, 2020
Knaackstraße 12, 10405 Berlin, Germany

Andy Warhol’s skull paintings and Rorschach inkblots invoke the universal. The skull is a stand-in for Everyman and the memento mori. The Rorschach is a symmetrical pattern used in psychiatric evaluations: What do you see in this chance pattern? For artists, perception is everything, as are the bones beneath the skin. “Skulls and Rorschachs” brings together the work of Warhol, Christopher Wool, and the late Michel Majerus. —E.C.
