The Korean artist Heesoo Kim creates portraits of people stripped of their personhood. He wants his work to underscore common experiences, and wants his viewers to identify with the idiosyncratic faces they confront. The exhibition “Normal Life,” says Kim, is an “expression of the mundane,” an acceptance of normalcy in a world fraught with competition. —Clara Molot
