“Zoom zoom, zoom zoom / The world is in a mess”… In the spirit of the Gershwins’ “Slap That Bass,” which seemingly foretold both the pandemic and its palliation, one of New York’s most inventive jazz clubs has reinvented itself on that platform. Besides its Saturday Lockdown Sessions and Tuesday Dance Parties, it offers thrice-weekly opportunities—limited to 15 participants each—to virtually visit, hear, and schmooze with such illustrious musicians as Jen Shyu, Becca Stevens, Orrin Evans, Dayna Stephens, and Vijay Iyer. —E.E.
