In response to the vilification of immigrants, Tabula Rasa Dance Theater is presenting a program inspired by artistic director Felipe Escalante’s Mexican heritage. First up will be Escaramuza, a lively tribute to the colorful, all-female Mexican equestrian teams known for their high-speed, synchronized routines. Next the company will perform Border of Lights, a visceral piece that threads together the variegated stories of border-crossers. Dancers will perform both works on a dirt-covered stage, invoking the surfaces on which the Escaramuzas gallop and the soil upon which the unwanted wanderers tread. —Amy Fine Collins
