At Pippa Houldsworth, six artists attempt to make visual a number of psychological states. New paintings by Katarina Caserman, Héloïse Chassepot, Saskia Colwell, Li Hei Di, Zoe McGuire, and Alexis Soul-Gray evoke desire, fantasy, dreamscapes, and strange memories. While Colwell creates tightly cropped portraits in grayscale, for instance, Li’s canvases look ebulliently tie-dyed. Each work is a deep dive into the artist’s mind, but combined they show us the boundless universe that is self-expression. —Clara Molot
