In June 2024, Charli XCX’s lime-green rave-inspired album sparked a phenomenon known as Brat Summer. Her follow-up album, two years in the making, is co-written and produced by her Brat collaborators, AG Cook and Finn Keane. Photographer Aidan Zamiri shot the album’s cover art, which shows John Cale, Marc Jacobs, and Martin Scorsese, the singer’s heroes in music, fashion, and film (see album title), in a kitchen. I don’t know about you, but to me Martin Scorsese and English club music sounds like a promising pairing. —Paulina Prosnitz
