Camille Henrot was born in 1978, in Paris. She studied film animation at the École nationale supérieure des Arts décoratifs, and then worked as an assistant to the artist Pierre Huyghe. The year 2013 saw Henrot on an arts fellowship at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C, during which she created Grosse Fatigue, a 13-minute video piece that was later featured at the Venice Biennale. In the last decade Henrot’s work has been exhibited at such venues as the Baltimore Art Museum, the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Bordeaux, and the Tokyo Opera City Art Gallery. Her mediums, along with video art, include painting, collage, and sculpture. This show at Hauser & Wirth highlights Henrot’s new bronze sculptures as well as various smaller-scale works. —Jack Sullivan
