Bad Sisters

Sarah Greene, Anne-Marie Duff, Sharon Horgan, Eva Birthistle, and Eve Hewson in Bad Sisters.

If Big Little Lies had been made by someone with a brilliant sense of humor, and the moors of Monterey had been swapped with those of the Irish coast, it might begin to resemble this 10-episode series that is part comedy, part thriller. A man has died, the despicable husband of a woman with four sisters, and now all the sisters are subjects of an investigation into his demise. Starring Sharon Horgan, Anne-Marie Duff, Eva Birthistle, Sarah Greene, and Eve Hewson, Bad Sisters is based on the Belgian series Clan. Co-written by Horgan, Dave Finkel, and Brett Baer, it’s Horgan at her best, pairing the deadpan humor of Pulling and Catastrophe with something closer to horror. —Julia Vitale
