The Peninsula hotel opened its doors in Hong Kong almost 100 years ago, in December 1928, and it is still the city’s resident grande dame. Six years ago, the group unveiled a yearly contemporary art program that commissions dream projects from up-and-coming artists. For this year’s iteration, which is set to coincide with Hong Kong Art Week, the local artist Phoebe Hui has created the celestial installation Lunar Rainbow, which will float over the building’s facade. A large-scale work by Chris Cheung and Tai Ping serves as the centerpiece of a new Zen Garden, while a textile piece by the Shanghai-based artist Lin Fanglu graces the lobby. The show is organized in partnership with London’s Victoria & Albert Museum. —Elena Clavarino
