Roger is recently divorced. He’s also struggling at work. Lost and disillusioned, he stumbles upon Angry Alan, a conspiracy-ridden website that blames feminism for the perceived decline of men’s status in society. On the surface, Roger seems charming, composed, and laid back. But inside, he’s falling down a rabbit hole of anger and resentment. “[The play] shows how the force of a compelling narrative might throw any of us into a spiral of self-deception,” the Guardian critic Mark Fisher wrote in a 2018 review of Angry Alan. Penelope Skinner’s incisive play now returns as the inaugural production at Studio Seaview, a new Off Broadway venue. John Krasinski takes on the role of Roger. Sam Gold directs. —Jeanne Malle
