An Evening With Ringo Starr

Oct 1–2, 2026
1 TENNIS PL, FOREST HILLS, NY 11375

In 1968, Ringo Starr briefly quit the Beatles and decamped to Sardinia, where a boat captain explained how octopuses collect shells and stones to build little gardens on the seafloor. Starr liked the idea of living under the sea peacefully, and turned it into “Octopus’s Garden,” one of only two songs he wrote for the band. Nearly 70 years into his career, Starr has settled into a new chapter as a country artist. This fall he comes to Forest Hills Stadium in support of Long Long Road, released in April. It’s his 22nd studio album and his second with the producer T Bone Burnett, following last year’s chart-topping Look Up, which earned Starr his first Grand Ole Opry appearance at 84. The new record layers easy Americana over his classic-rock roots, with guest turns from Sheryl Crow, Billy Strings, and St. Vincent. —Clara Scholl
